    • Square Piping inside Navis April 18, 2014
After exporting from Revit 2014 I am now getting square piping in my navis model.  But it only happens with piping under 1/2" in size.  Anything over 1/2" seems to be fine.  With Revit 2013 all the exports were fine.  Any reason this would happen?  Thank you in advance for your help

    • Single Pipe Isolation April 17, 2014
I have a dwg that was created in Plant 3D. This dwg contains a whole piping service. Is there a way to isolate individual pipes in Navisworks? I want to highlight a single pipe line and hit the "Hide Unselected" button in order to only see that one line. Any ideas???

    • displaced April 17, 2014
Hello there, inserting objects onto the same coordinates and using the move tool withnumeric input results in displaced objects as soon as I move more than oneobject with the same origin.  Therefore: Selecting 4 Objects will misplace 3 of them. As soon as the origin is exactlythe same, it does not work as it ought to anymore. Therefore I needed to add up the […]

    • Subcontractor “Pass-Through” Claims Still a Matter of Controversy
Subcontractor “pass-through” claims, sponsored by a prime contractor against a public project owner, are both useful and controversial. A pass-through claim results from a claim liquidation agreement between the prime and the sub. The prime agrees to pursue the project owner, at the prime’s expense, for the subcontractor’s increased costs. The prime will pas […]

AutoCAD MEP 2012 — “Add Ducts” Updated

Posted by Rob W on March 24, 2011

Lana Gochenauer showcases another enhancement that streamlines workflow in AutoCAD MEP 2012 — the updated Add Ducts command.

I was part of the beta test. Myself and several other complained about removing the Duct Dialog Box. I love it when Autodesk and it’s resellers think they know whats more productive when running 20′ of duct in their test. I still miss the Piping dialog box :-( The auto transition is nice thou, not sure why it was not in 2011, as it originated in 2009 as a subscription add on.

Duct Design Mythbusters

Posted by Rob W on April 9, 2010

By Paul Webolt

It’s often said that to do something right, you have to get back to the basics. Sometimes, the basics involve putting aside what you think to be true, and looking at it from a different perspective.

This is certainly true with duct design. There are many “myths” associated with duct design that result in common errors. Allow me to be that different perspective, as I debunk 10 common myths associated with duct design. (Read More)
